The Panthers NSW Cup side will try and keep their winning streak alive when they take on Newtown in front of a home crowd at Sportingbet Stadium on Saturday.

The NSWRL draw sees these two sides clash twice in two weeks, with the Penrith crew heading out to Allianz Stadium next weekend to face the Jets again.

After several weeks of lacklustre performances and scrappy wins, Garth Brennan’s side put in a solid performance against Wests Tigers last weekend and despite a shady 15 minutes in the second half, they were dominant and aggressive, and played well overall.

The Jets are currently sitting in 10th spot on the ladder after going down to Cronulla last week, but they are not to be underestimated. They have won seven matches this year and they have the ability to pull out a very sharp performance when they set their minds to it, so Penrith will have to be on the ball from the kickoff.

The Panthers will have a near full strength side back this week with Sam Anderson and Waqa Blake returning from rep duty. Ben Murdoch-Masila will miss a week or two with injury, so Vaipuna Tia Kilifi moves into the starting front row. Kierran Moseley joins an extended bench as well.
