Panthers prop Sam McKendry will cop a two-week suspension after taking the early guilty plea for a grade one shoulder charge.

McKendry was cited for his shoulder making contact with Storm fullback Cameron Munster in the 78th minute of Saturday's game at AAMI Park.

The former Kiwi international will now miss Sunday's showdown with Manly and the club's Round 16 clash against the Rabbitohs at Pepper Stadium on June 24.

McKendry's replacement in the front row will be revealed when Panthers coach Anthony Griffin names his side on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile the head of the NRL Match Review Committee Michael Buettner has attempted to explain why Storm winger Marika Koroibete was not charged for his 'bump' on Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.

Buettner said despite there being no arms used in the tackle, there was separation between Koroibete's arm and his body, he was travelling in a similar direction to Watene-Zelezniak and 'there was some football in it'.
