Penrith Panthers is delighted to announce Caleb Aekins has signed a new two-year deal with the club.
The contract extension means the 20-year-old outside back will remain with Panthers until at least the end of the 2020 season.
Originally hailing from New Zealand, Aekins starred for the Panthers NYC side in 2016 and 2017 before making the step up to the Intrust Super Premiership NSW this season.
His recent form in the ISP competition saw him selected for the NSW Residents side, which duly defeated QLD Residents 36-20 at ANZ Stadium last month.
"Caleb has progressed through the Panthers development system and established himself as an NRL player of the future," Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould AM said.
"He fully deserved his call-up to the NSW Residents side and was close to the best player on the field.
"Caleb can play several positions and this versatility will enhance his chances of making his NRL debut in the near future."
The re-signing of Aekins follows the recent contract extensions of Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Kaide Ellis and Nick Lui-Toso.
