Panthers playmaker Jarome Luai has undergone surgery on the ankle injury he suffered against Brisbane Broncos last Friday.
The 21-year-old rookie suffered a syndesmosis tear, torn lateral ankle ligaments and a partial tear of the medial ankle ligament during the first half at Suncorp Stadium.
With successful rehabilitation, it is hoped Luai will return to the field in eight weeks and have an opportunity to participate in the club's finals campaign.
