Scans have revealed the full extent of the knee injury suffered by Panthers forward Kurt Capewell during last Friday's Battle of the West at Bankwest Stadium.
Capewell suffered a grade three medial ligament injury in his left knee while making a tackle in the first minute of the game.
The 26-year-old will require surgery to repair the ligament and remain sidelined for at least 10 weeks.
Capewell's replacement in the team to face Melbourne Storm will be revealed when Panthers coach Ivan Cleary names his squad on Tuesday afternoon.
