Cleary suspended for dangerous throw

Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary has entered an early guilty plea for a grade three dangerous throw charge.

Cleary will miss five NRL matches, ruling him out of the remainder of the regular season, however he will be eligible to return in Week 1 of the NRL Finals Series.

The representative halfback had been sent off for the dangerous throw on Eels five-eighth Dylan Brown during the Round 20 clash at CommBank Stadium on Friday night.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary will name the halfback’s replacement on Tuesday afternoon.
