Luai charged with striking

NSW Blues five-eighth Jarome Luai has been charged with striking following Wednesday night's State of Origin match at Suncorp Stadium.

Luai received a Grade 2 striking charge for an alleged headbutt on Queensland fullback Reece Walsh in the 80th minute of the match.

The Panthers playmaker has avoided suspension but received a monetary penalty.

Luai is eligible to play in Saturday night's Round 17 match against Newcastle Knights at BlueBet Stadium.
