The Panthers are looking to snap a two-game losing streak when they take on the Rabbitohs in the opening match of Round 4.
Both sides are eager to return to form after last start losses, with South Sydney falling to Cronulla in Round 3.
Wayne Bennett's men were slow out of the gates before storming home late and they will look to roll that momentum forward.
The loss put an end to the Rabbitohs' undefeated start to the season but they will have a pep in their step in their first game at Accor Stadium for the year.
Penrith have won seven of their last eight against South Sydney, a stretch that includes their dramatic 14-12 victory in the 2021 grand final.
The Panthers will be undermanned on Thursday night, with Nathan Cleary set to miss the clash under the concussion protocols, while fullback Dylan Edwards remains sidelined with a groin injury.

Team News
Rabbitohs: Just the one change for the Rabbitohs on game day, with Tevita Tatola shifting to the starting side and Davvy Moale dropping back to the bench. A boost for the Bunnies with veteran flyer Alex Johnston set for his first game since Round 21 last year. Johnston needs 18 more tries to surpass Ken Irvine as the greatest tryscorer in premiership history. Centre Campbell Graham faces another stint on the sidelines with a calf muscle tear. Winger Mikaele Ravalawa plays his 100th NRL game. Fletcher Myers remains the 18th man.
Panthers: A late reshuffle for Penrith, with Isaiah Papali'i to start at prop and Lindsay Smith shifting to the bench in the final team update. Brad Schneider has come onto the bench in place of Blaize Talagi when the teams were updated 24-hours from the match. Daine Laurie is on track to return from a quad injury at fullback, with coach Ivan Cleary saying "we thought he'd be OK last week but he has taken a bit longer than we thought. We're very keen for him to play but we'll find out a bit more by the end of the week". Trent Toelau comes in for his first NRL game of 2025 to replace Nathan Cleary (concussion protocol).
